Customer would like to be able to accurately track historical data on license usage.

    Admin response

Thank you all for the comments and input!  Along with the need to export this data, it sounds like the ability to see team license usage is a pretty common theme.  As we've been scratching out potential concepts, one thing that's clear is that adding teams as a filter or slicer will be tricky since a rep can be a member of multiple teams - so which team gets the license counted against it?  Pools, on the other hand, are clearer because each rep can be a member of only 1 pool.

So here are a couple questions for y'all if you don't mind sharing (and, of course, are allowed to share):

    • How are your teams configured?  More specifically, do you ever have reps assigned to multiple teams?
    • Are you using license pools?  If so, do they somewhat line up with teams as well?
    • If you answered yes to both of those, is it safe to assume that the license pool a rep belongs to would roughly match up to the "primary" team that they also belong to, and therefore would be the team to "count" the license against?

I agree that the report would be a great start. This has been discussed for what appears to be a few years now. When will the trigger be pulled to implement this?

Following up on this because being able to see license usage per pool would really help our work here: seeing which pool is always fully occupied and which has "vacancies" helps determing the actual amount of license needed in different services. Any update on when this feature might be available?

This looks good.  I would also add a graph interface, where you could set a percentage to track (like you can for email notification) so customers can see when they need to buy more licenses (given that 90% is really too late given customer procurement processes)

Regarding the new questions, Yes to all 3. This might not be the same for others but it is for those environments I support.

Report i good, but we should have filtering criteria - like filters in Excel.

Product manager should see license usage globally - all teams.

I would see very beneficial if report would also display MIN and MAX values defined for each License Pool.

Business partner should only see part that belongs to teams in his scope.

Other BU should not see his data - we must treat such report as confidential.

Ï would also welcome if report would distinguish between attended sessions (via Session key) and unattended (via Jump client) as we are thinking to charge them separately.

    Regards,

    Jan

Fantastic! While there are allot more improvements I can think of this is a great start with the ability to finally see all utilisation and not just when it's over 90%. Graphing is cool, but can easily do this do this in excel so long as it retains the current export formats. Team split would also be good, but can workaround this with Pool to Policy to team assignment in most cases. Cheers.

    This is a great start.
A visual graph would also be good or at least the ability to get the data into a spreadsheet so I can graph it myself.
Also are you able to report on idle user count as well?
So for example  I might be at 100% utilisation of my license pool but there are 5 idle logons?

    Hi,

A graph where I could quickly see the peak time for at least the global pool would be really cool.

I think this is a great start.  It would great to be able to view utilization by team, user, etc.  It would also be nice if there were an option to alert on number versus just percentage.  .
