Want back the REFRESH-Button for Jump-Clients

    Hi Marc, thanks for the note!  The auto refresh is actually providing a live view of your Jump Clients, so as soon as that rebooted system boots back up and its Jump Client connects to the appliance, you will see it online in the rep console nearly instantly.  In other words, there's no scheduling to it!

    If you are seeing different behavior, or if it's taking longer than you would expect for the Jump Client to connect, then do let us know over at help.bomgar.com and start a chat with our support team just in case we need to take a look together to see if something else is going on.

    There are times that when I boot the client and wait till it comes back online and it never does.  Click the refresh button and at least get a chance to see if it is indeed back online.  When the jump list shows it is online, I then close the session and open a new one to get back on a clients screen.  This is frustrating, but at least with a button I could force the refresh.  I don't trust the automatic refresh since it isn't 100% accurate.

    Yes please - often a system is available long before the Rep Client shows it - previously we could hit refresh and that saves time - and time matters when you've a busy support team!

    I use the manual refresh button for troubleshooting the connection to the client. It helps, within Bomgar, to see if the connection is the issue and not the client.

    A refresh button that would apply only to the PC's with a certain tag (used for grouping) would be nice.  Normally you don't want to refresh and entire jump group which in our case has gobs of PC's.

    Auto refresh is working but slow.  Lets bring back the refresh button, after 20 plus years of IT work i know for sure the human mind cannot wait for anything a computer automatically does.  its the last button to take away.  No disrespect to the programmers who feel their code for auto is not good enough.  With over 1000 jump clients, its taking too long.  Bad code fast computing is better than good code slow computing, and if you're scared go to church!

    We have found that on environments with allot of jump clients refreshing, it takes a considerable amount of time for the reps to start using the Native Console. Up to 3 minutes. While this something reps can live with, there are environments which currently rely on a Terminal Server jump box where the rep console is used by many at a time. This is required as this group rep users don't have the ability to install the rep console locally so rely on a jump box. As a result, there are many rep users refreshing regularly and it's maxing out the terminal server jump box memory. This memory usage has slowed the refresh down even further and crashed the rep console for some rep users. The only work around has been to shift many reps to web consoles which is not ideal. The refresh of jump clients after changes is great, but the auto refresh on start up is not great at all. What would be better is a way of indexing the information and passing this down in a small file to the rep console upon login. But in the mean time having a mechanism to choose to not have the auto refresh would be acceptable.

    In the "live view", I still had VMs showing "On" 2 minutes after the host was powered down.  I would like the "refresh" button back.

    The nearly instantly isn't necessarily true. I have 2 rep console users that sit fairly close to each other and they notice that one of them has a jump client online where the other does not.  I hear them discuss this frequently since we updated.

     

    This is very noticeable on the mobile console app for android.  You have to exit the jump group then select it again to refresh the view of online jump clients.  This could be unique to the mobile app so there may be no connection but it has been noticed and reported to me.

    Love the new feature but want the button back to do a manual refresh from time to time.  After rebooting a system want to refresh manually and not have to wait for some auto-refresh schedule.
