Return of email two factor authentication

In the new Bomgar 17.1 they removed the two factor email option and replaced is it with an Authenticator App login

We have external company's who do maintenance on 1 or more of our systems. The work is being done by multiple employees who don't have a central smart authentication app but they do have a central mailbox.

I'd like to add to this. We don't require our employees to use their personal phones for work and do not want to. Access to the Beyond Trust Remote console is based on LDAP, so only internal users can log into the Rep console. We'd like to enable Two factor authentication that would send an email to their work address.

Martin Dijkhuizen & Guest are %100 dead on. To third party support vendors we give a Bomgar account & used email login code to their generic support email addresses, forcing mfa upon them. They are Support Teams, not individuals. Removing this feature has REDUCED OUR SECURITY against our service providers/support providers. In this common use case 'email login code' is superior to TOTP. 'email login code' was one of the best features for safing up vendor access to our systems. Bomgar should be embarrassed for having made this decision & commit to reinstatement. This feature should be a selling point for Bomgar on "how to more safely give vendors access".

What could the purpose have been for deprecation anyhow?

Personal mobile phones are not safe places.
