Customer Chat Sounds

Instead of just NUDGE, add a sound for the customer when the rep sends a chat message. The reps get sound, let's have the customer get them too!

    I have to comment on this... I think the developers took this the wrong way because now anything and everything that happens in the chat window on the client computer when remoting, now makes a VERY ANNOYING AUDIBLE TONE and is VERY ANNOYING when there is 50 other people in the same space as you, and when someone needs help, all you hear is "ding, ding, ding, ding, ding..... ding......." because I click on their computer and then screen share, and then need to transfer a file, and then need to access the command line shell... and EVERTHING that goes through their chat window now makes this awful ding sound.

    what they should have done is make this an option, rather than a forced change, because now there is no option in the settings to have this turned off, when we never had this problem before.

    suggestion, if you want them to hear a ding for ACTUAL CHATS, then make the chat part separate from the actions pane, so that if and when someone ACTUALLY WANTS TO SEND THEM A CHAT MESSAGE, it will ding, and not everytime I need to remote to their computer to fix their computer, but just for chat messages.

     

    AS WELL AS MAKE IT AN OPTION to the above statement. Not forced.

    when you have 50 people, and half of them either dont know how to turn off the audio, or dont want to, it makes it really hard for this to become a useful tool, especially when management is now trying to say that we are doing it on purpose now as a joke. Thanks!

    Adding a sound for the customer will be very helpful, especially if there are multiple persons in queue.

    As a busy user (customer), having sound cues is REALLY IMPORANT to me. It allows me to multitask while waiting for the rep's response, so all of my time isn’t wasted looking at the screen in anticipation of their answer.

    For instance, I can't multitask or even look away from the chat screen while I'm waiting or I'll miss the chat response. In fact, just today I had to resubmit my initial help desk chat request because I missed my turn in the queue. But I need to be able to keep working because responses usually take so long. I can't afford to sit idle and stare expectantly at the chat screen and twiddle my thumbs, not in my role. Staring at the screen makes me a very impatient, unhappy customer. Having sound cues would free me up to multitask while waiting for a response.
