Product Ideas Portal

Got an idea for a new feature? Maybe a tweak to make something work even better? Wish there was an integration with another product to make you even more productive? You've come to the right place.

The Product Ideas Portal lets you submit whatever product feedback you have, good, bad, ugly, and anywhere between.

Want to stay anonymous? Don't worry, no email address or name fields are shared on the public portal. You can create an account which lets you vote on other people's ideas and receive updates when your idea's status changes.

ORACLE - "SYS" account management with respect Oracle Database and ASM is not supported in RED IM

Managing SYS account in REDIM is not currently supported and below is the suggestion of what needs to be done. Email attached which has the screenshot also for reference. Bombar that this needs to be an enhancement request and we request this to be implemented at the earliest.

Does this application UI use the .net data provider to connect to Oracle?  If not, which?

When connecting to Oracle, there are 4 types of privileges used in the connection, commonly referred to as "Connect As":

Normal (this is the default)

My suggestion is to add a "Connect As" dropdown to the "Oracle Database Instance Setting" form, similar to this:

Include all 4 options in the drop down:  Normal, SYSDBA, SYSOPER, SYSASM

Then use syntax similar to this depending on which option was selected:

Normal Privilege:

"Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;User ID=user;Password=pwd;Data Source=constr;"

SYSDBA Privilege:

"Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;User ID=user;Password=pwd;Data Source=constr;DBA Privilege=SYSDBA;"

SYSOPER Privilege:

"Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;User ID=user;Password=pwd;Data Source=constr;DBA Privilege=SYSOPER;"

SYSASM Privilege:

"Provider=OraOLEDB.Oracle;User ID=user;Password=pwd;Data Source=constr;DBA Privilege=SYSASM;"
