The Product Ideas Portal lets you submit whatever product feedback you have, good, bad, ugly, and anywhere between.

Auto populating feature for pbinstall

I am currently certifying PowerBroker 10.2 on RHEL 7. pbinstall asks answer for approximately 200 questions in which 30+ questions are directory path related. we have a following standard to install the applications.

/opt/<APP_NAME> - binaries and libraries
/etc/opt/<APP_NAME> - configuration files, certificates and keys
/var/opt/<APP_NAME> - Database, log and any volatile files

Hence it is time consuming to install the application and prone to human error as well.

As base path is same for most of the files, it more convenient and eliminates human errors if auto-populate feature is available with pbinstall script.

for example, if I choose binary path is /opt/pb/bin, it should automatically populate the admin path to /opt/pb/sbin, library path to /opt/pb/lib, man path to /opt/pb/man/man1(8), etc. This auto-populate feature should be available for binaries, libraries, configuration files, log files, database files and certificate files.

The auto-populate feature is available for port settings i.e. if I choose the base port it automatically populates all other ports. Same functionality should be available for directory paths as well.
