Modify UVM backup to cache backup file to a different volume to prevent failures due to disk space

Our UVM backups keep failing due to lack of disk space. We are running an AWS cloud UVM which is a single volume limited to 2 TB by the OS. The UVM backup is asking for 1032775 mb free which is nearly impossible to achieve with everything going on.

We can easily add a volume to the UVM for the backups to cache to so we don’t have disk issues. Need a way to change the path from C:\uvmbackup to something else local so there is enough space for a successful backup.

So if these are SQL logs, if you are using a remote database, during the SQL install you set the destination of logs.

You can also change the destination of backup location in SSMS.
