We have audit requirements to rotate 'disconnected' credentials that have been used within 48 hours of their use. Currently there is no event that is logged when an account expires due to checkout duration, only when the user logs in and clicks Check-In.
If there was an event to trigger emails from in both cases, I could move my alerting to the check-in event and directly assign those emails to the teams responsible for rotating those passwords. Currently I am forced to alert myself on disconnected checkouts and monitor when the accounts are no longer in use in PI manually. Then send out the notification to reset the account.
