Syslog events should have as granular data as reports

Today syslog events only show when users log into the access/web console, or admin events.

Would be useful to have the granular details in the reports section also sent in syslog:

  • when a session stars, by who, endpoint

  • when a session ends, reason for disconnect

  • user invites external user or team member

  • processes ran

etc

Adding in-session notification syslog event messages to report on session usage, specifically how long a user was logged in, and session duration.

Agreed! There should be little to nothing in the reports that don't show up in the syslog output. Let the SIEM / syslog server have all the information so it can do event correlation.

We've had several cases where a user would blame Bomgar for their disconnected sessions, and only after digging through the reports could we find that someone had killed their session on the server they were connected to. If this data was fed to the SIEM via syslog, we could much more easily report and alarm on what happened and why.
