Ability to disable audible alerts on Jump Clients except for actual chat messages

I actually consider this a bug, but I was told this is now the expected behavior of a Jump Client since version 19.2.1. and that I should submit this as a new idea request.

Starting with 19.2.1, remote jump clients will create an audible alert (audio wave file: chat.wav) whenever you do any of the following from the Rep console:

  • Initial Connection to Jump Client
  • Start Screen Sharing
  • Start Command Shell
  • Start System Info
  • Start Registry Access
  • Send Ctrl-Alt-Del
  • Toggle Control Of Keyboard and Mouse

Anything that creates an information alert/entry in the chat window will sound an audible alert.

Since we use Remote Support 99% of the time as remote administration and not for remote support, this is not desirable.  We have the "Starts Quietly" option enabled on all of our Jump Clients, but it no longer starts quietly.  

This is my request: If a Jump Client has the "Starts Quietly" option enabled, the only time that the chat alert sound will play on the Jump Client is when there is actual conversational chat.

    I found that if you make a 2 second, silent audio clip and name it chat.wav it gets rid of the beep. You need to drop it in the Program Data\Bomgar-scc-(hex) folder. Caveat all beeps are gone even for chat.

    Ditto here.  Especially bad on conference room systems.  A lot of beeping on a couple conferences with c-level people that need some remote support behind the scenes = non-renewal for Bomgar.

    This is ridiculous... Who thought this was good idea?  If the jump clients are set to Start Quietly they should be quite. 

    We use remote support for conference room systems sometimes and it's making alerts in the room speakers. This is broken and unusable for us in those rooms and needs to be fixed.

    Please make this a priority for next update. Clients don't want a loud beep every time I do anything from the rep console.

    We use Bomgar for our audio systems - if we remote in to those machines during an event it plays on our auditorium speakers. this makes Bomgar broken/unusable for us!

    I've received a lot of customer complaints because of the noise.
